Web Developer — Contract Position

Job Overview:
EasyStreet is looking for an experienced Web Developer to utilize their knowledge of various web application technologies to create and deploy a web portal for our outsourced NOC service. This will be a contract position for a six-month period.
Utilizing DotNetNuke and the .NET framework, the ideal candidate will be able to deploy a user-friendly, secure, aesthetically pleasing, professional, stable and scalable web portal framework. The web portal will simplify, organize and communicate among disparate systems and organizations in order to support a high quality tele-health network.
While the candidate will have a team of peers working with him or her to complete the project, the candidate will have sole responsibility for writing code for integration with existing system as well as all custom developed modules.
Candidate must be able to successfully deliver the following project-related objectives (this is a high-level list and is not meant to cover every deliverable or responsibility) on time, within budget and to a high degree of quality:

Portal Framework
Integration with external data sources and/or web services
Authentication architecture with single sign-on functionality
Module Development
Custom Design
o Contact Management
o Service Catalog
o Integration with monitoring system
o Integration with asset management system
Pre-defined module deployment
o Announcements
o Document Management
o Mailing lists
o Reporting
o Ticketing
Associated Project Responsibilities:
Contribute to web portal requirements documentation
Contribute to use case development
Contribute to web portal design framework design and documentation
Web portal coding and module deployment
Plan, Code, Test, Modify, Validate process for all modules as well as framework
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology related field from an accredited college or university; or five years of equivalent experience as a developer in web-based software engineering.
Proven ability to provide accurate timeline estimates and deliver to schedule
Demonstrated experience designing and deploying web applications
Demonstrated experience with security conscious coding techniques
Demonstrated experience with designing SharePoint web parts or DotNetNuke portal modules
Work closely with users and project team to better understand the business and technical requirements test the usability of features and conceptual designs and refine to improve the user experience based on feedback.
Demonstrated ability to utilize OOP concepts to minimize repetition and errors
Consistent use of error checking methodologies to prevent application crashes and report adequate information for resolution
Ability to think beyond the here and now to protect the user from themselves
Consistent use of industry standard code commenting techniques
Experience using VSS as a source code version control
Experience working with a variety of web services
Thorough knowledge of software development lifecycle and standards
Ability to design cross browser compatible web applications
Dedicated individual with a strong work ethic that takes pride in their work and thrives under pressure
Ability to work individually and in a team environment
Familiarity with the SDLC
Familiarity with various flexible and rapid software design methodologies (FDD, RUP, Agile, RAD, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to manipulate computer keyboard/mouse and view computer screen, perform floor-to-ceiling equipment maintenance in a rack environment, work in narrow/confined spaces and lift 50 lbs.
