Tall photographer in Brooklyn to take some photos of a museum object
August 22, 2022 3:32 PM

I'm making a copy of an Egyptian chair in the Brooklyn museum and need about 50 photos to supplement the ones on their website.

https://www.brooklynmuseum.org/opencollection/objects/3948

I say “tall photographer” only because there are a couple shots I need through the top of the case. If you click the Q&A section at the bottom of that linked page, you can see some images of the chair in it's case. I'm also hoping to get someone with a decently wide aperture camera, unless your phone can take exceptionally good low light closeups - enough to show useful detail of the underside of the chair.

I know the pay is low but I'm looking for information rich research images rather than beauty shots. I don’t need the publishing rights - and that would be against the museum's policy against commercial photography. I intend to refer to the photos for my own sketches, illustrating a blog post similar to the one I made for an Egyptian stool I built a year ago:

If you think you'd have time for this over the next few weeks, please let me know and I can send you a list with a drawing to show the shots I'm most interested in.

As long as you don’t use a flash or there shouldn’t be a problem with the museum's photo policy.

I'm in Toronto, or I'd come down to take images myself. We'd have to figure out the best Canada>US payment option.
