Drupal Themer
November 9, 2010 10:02 AM

Are you a web designer who has caught the Drupal bug? We’re looking for someone with a passion for creating beautiful Drupal themes who wants to join our small, focused team and have a BIG impact on theming in Drupal. You’ll get to exercise your creativity, problem solving skills, and talk to people from all walks of life who are using our themes to make their own dreams come true.

This isn’t so much a graphic designer position, but if you’re a great designer too, that is a plus! More important is the drive to efficiently create themes from existing designs, and make things clear, polished, and usable. Interaction with clients and customers is an important part of this, so you must be able to clearly communicate your ideas and understand requirements.

Required qualifications

* 3+ years of web design/front end web development
* Good sense of design aesthetics and building sites with a strong attention to UX
* Exceptional cross-browser, semantic XHTML/CSS coding skills
* Experience with CSS grid frameworks
* Familiar with standard tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks
* Dabbled with PHP/jQuery and eager to learn more
* Drupal experience (1+ years ideally but experience with other CMSes helps)
* High standards for code quality and attention to detail
* Experience with version control, issue tracking systems

Helpful if you have

* Experience with Fusion/Skinr or other theming frameworks
* Knowledge of Drupal site building -- Views, CCK, Panels, etc.
* Created a theme/template that lots of people have used
* Forward-thinking web development experience, i.e. mobile, HTML5, SASS/LESS

This is a full time, salaried, contract-to-hire position. You are welcome to work from the home/office/RV/cabin/canoe of your choosing :)

Proximity to the San Francisco Bay Area is a plus but not required for highly qualified candidates.
