The candidate is:

* A web coder with a strong design sense
* An experienced developer (3+ years) with a wide range of front-end programming skills (Flash/AS3/Flex, dHTML/jQuery, CSS, PHP) as well as experience integrating with the backend (LAMP, Ruby, Python)
* Used to crunching large datasets and turning them into beautiful, interactive visualizations
* Confident in your strong UI/UX skills
* Comfortable with design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator) and rapid wireframing apps (OmniGraffle)
* Experienced with visualization packages for Flash as well as other platforms (Flare, Many Eyes)
* Experienced with WordPress
* Someone who can work closely and collaborate with non-technical staff as well as other coders
* Proud of your existing, publicly available portfolio

You like to:

* Experiment with new APIs from news organizations and .govs
* Follow the latest developments in data visualization
* Obsessively tweak your pixel-perfect projects while still shipping on time
