Reporting to the Director of Communications, the individual will work with deans and directors, as well as other representatives of the divisions and programs of [the] School to produce high-quality Web sites and other digital communications.
1. Works with the Director to ensure a high level of effectiveness across [the] School's website and other digital communications. Prioritizes the user experience to ensure audience needs are met in a consistent and brand-appropriate way.
2. Utilizes user-centered design principles to develop, design, and evaluate visual interfaces, web pages, and other tools to navigate and interact with websites and web-based applications.
3. Creates on-brand visual solutions for marketing and communications web and digital media projects. Provides additional interactive prototypes when necessary.
4. Keeps abreast of new platforms and trends in web design and communication and social media, and recommends new opportunities to advance [the] School in the digital space. Recommends new and existing technology in response to the evolving needs of the School.
5. Develops both strategy and implementation plans for department and [...] School digital goals. Equally considers big picture and execution, ensuring that School objectives and departmental strategy are prioritized, design standards are rigorously adhered to, and content is always effectively incorporated across web publications and electronic media around the School.
6. Successfully works with partners at all levels of the School including students, faculty members, administration, and School leadership. Listens to constituents to understand their business goals as well as content and design requirements. Develops web plans that balance individual business unit objectives with institutional objectives.
7. Translates project-specific visual and functional requirements and objectives into technical requirements and specifications, as needed, for Web sites and electronic communications. Acts as a liaison for the creative/content team to the School's IT team, as well as necessary vendors. Coordinates among cross-functional teams to identify challenges, improvements to processes; recommends and implements solutions to keep the [...] School Web site up-to-date and successful.
8. Responsible for aligning technical specifications and planning and performance analysis with marketing strategy. Develops/maintains a coherent brand image and enhances the reputation of the [...] School via web sites.
9. Plans and reviews site architecture for new web sites and features. Manages the integration of the information design and project concept. Develops and communicates the intersection of user interface and the Web site structure for a variety of constituencies, including prospective students, current students, faculty members, alumni, recruiters, and business community.
