Senior Interactive Designer for Museum

We are seeking an extremely creative, strategic, and out-of-the box thinker to be part of our award-winning Integrated Media Department. Reporting to the Director of Integrated Media, the Senior Interactive Designer is responsible for the design and production of the museum's web site (www.pem.org), as well as for leveraging content, design, and brand identity across all other digital platforms. The position also collaborates with educators, curators, exhibition designers, and other Integrated Media staff to conceptualize, design and develop in-gallery interactive components for museum exhibitions. Working in a mission-driven, highly creative environment, this is a dream opportunity for a person with a forward-thinking approach to web design, as well as interest in emerging web technologies, user-experience, and social networking trends.
The position requires at least four years experience in a fast-paced production environment. Candidates must be technically savvy, working with a variety of software programs and platforms. Candidates must have a BA or BFA degree in Digital Media or a related artistic field, or relevant combination of education and experience. Applicants should have a strong web portfolio, focused on design and user experience of the highest quality. Strong interest in art and/or experience working in a visual arts organization a big plus.
