Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in library or information science from an ALA accredited institution; May 2011 graduates welcome to apply. Familiarity with standards & best practices for digital library projects. Knowledge of digital asset management systems. Ability to initiate, track and manage projects. Outstanding written and verbal skills. Detail oriented self starter. Proficiency in use of online research databases and resources. Ability to interact effectively with other professionals, students, staff, and faculty in a collegial manner. Experience providing reference or customer service in a library setting.
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience developing digital scanning initiatives. Experience creating metadata to describe digital objects. Familiarity with XML and non-marc cataloging schemes, such as Dublin Core. Familiarity with cataloging standards. Project management experience. One (1) or more years experience providing reference service. Experience obtaining external funding for digitization projects. Experience developing procedural manuals and documentation.
