Part-time library assistant

University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Gibson D. Lewis Library.

Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for circulating and shelving the library's print and media materials; answering patron questions; helping patrons to locate and use library resources and equipment; and maintaining the library's public areas. Other job duties include handling financial transactions and performing basic troubleshooting of equipment.

Requirements: High school graduation or GED and one year of work experience in both customer service and clerical positions are required. The ability to file accurately is essential. Previous library work experience and strong computer skills are preferred. The successful applicant will work 15-19 hours per week in the Circulation Department. Assigned shifts will include hours until midnight, 2 AM and weekends. Position requires standing and walking for long periods of time; lifting up to 20 lbs.; reading small text; pushing loaded book trucks; and repeated bending, stooping, and reaching overhead. $9.00/hr.
