Berkeley bike mechanic or aficionado to examine bike and ship to Toronto
July 21, 2008 11:26 AM
This is a weird one: someone in Berkeley who I do not know is selling a bike that, based on photos and description, I think I want to buy. However, I'm in Toronto, Canada.
So, I'm looking for someone in SF who knows about bikes to examine the bike, determine if the condition is as described, purchase the bike, and ship it to me in Toronto. In addition to the fee for your work, I will of course paypal you the purchase price and the shipping price. I think $100 is fair but if you have some other price in mind, let me know. If I get multiple offers I'll take your price into consideration. If everyone says $100, I'll take your experience (if you're a mechanic or aficionado; if you've shipped bikes before, etc.) into account, so please list any pertinent details.
Note that I want the bike shipped in a professional manner, preferably in a bike box (which can probably be obtained from your LBS).
The bike is a fixed gear / track bike.
payscale: $100
job type: contract
