Human Factors Engineer

Union Pacific Railroad currently has opportunities on the Human Factors Team at Union Pacific Railroad located in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Human Factors team is responsible for managing both the interaction design process and user research across various projects.


Areas of responsibility include:
• Designing and specifying user interfaces and information architecture using participatory and iterative design techniques
• Producing wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications
• Effectively communicating conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale both verbally and visually
• Participating as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes usability analysts, project managers, and developers.
• Analyzing research data and synthesizing into actionable briefs
• Presentation of research findings to internal team and/or clients
• Developing and sharing archive of research methodologies and cross-project learning


Requirements include:
• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Strong communications skills (both oral and written)
• Travel Requirements: 0% - 10%
