Senior Web Developer Needed for e-Comm Start Up
E-comm start up in Tween Do It Yourself Fashion building in-house dev team. Looking for one or two more senior web application developers to complete our team. Need to build a highly motivated, dynamic team that can handle the challenges of a start up environment, meaning we need critical thinkers, problem solvers, team players who believe in the business and want to contribute.
Position Description
Role will be to work with the Director of Web Development and the Director of Product Development/Marketing to develop and implement next phase functionality of site, maintain and improve the existing web site, design, develop and implement the core technology required to support the site and the business, and manage infrastructure/code to support growth. Day to day responsibilities will include
- Planning and implementation of new functionality both customer facing and back office
- Plan and implement UI and IA improvements
- Analyze problems of scalability and implement solutions
- code and database optimization/maintenance
- Problem solving/bug fixing
- Developing specific functionality to support business partnerships or promotions
- Minimal network and system administration
Requirements
- Actionscript3/Flex/Flash and integration with PHP and MySQL database
- PHP
- high proficiency in client side web dev (Javascript, CSS, Ajax, etc)
- high proficiency in server side web dev
- familiarity with database design and optimization
- familiarity with server administration, network administration
- good business sense (understand and design for impact on end user)
- thrive in collaborative environments
- excellent communicator
- comfortable with the challenges of start up life
- MUST BE IN NEW YORK CITY AREA
Technologies we use:
- PHP, XML, Actionscript, Flex, CSS, Ajax, Javascript
- MySQL, Apache, Linux
- Drupal (experience with Joomla or other CMS platforms is helpful as well)
- Subversion, Bugzilla
payscale: negotiable
