Department of Arts, Languages and Philosophy - Assistant Professor of Theatre
The University of Missouri-Rolla, Department of Arts, Languages & Philosophy, seeks to fill a tenure track, Assistant Professor of Theatre position beginning Fall 2007. Minimum requirements are an MFA with an emphasis in directing. Because this is a non degree granting program and exists as an enhancement program for interested students, the candidate must be proficient in all areas of theatre including directing, designing, and management. The successful candidate will produce evidence of research relevant to production requirements and evidence of teaching excellence, preferably at the university level. Duties will be to direct one major production, drama or musical; direct a series of one act plays; be prepared to design set, costumes, lights and sound with the assistance of a technical director; create publicity and management at all levels of production and teach one section of Theatre Appreciation each semester. The salary is competitive, based on qualifications and experience. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled; review of applications will begin on April 15, 2007.
