January 9, 2007 1:43 PM
Who We are
We make clothing, giftware, housewares, limited edition artwork, toys, and various other things that we really dig. We sell to clothing, gift, museum, and fancy-pants toy stores worldwide. You can also find our stuff in savvy chains such as Urban Outfitters and Virgin Megastores.
What We Want
In addition to selling in traditional stores, we do a good amount of business online. We're looking for a web developer to grab our site by the ass and give it a big shake. We want to significantly increase our online sales and are searching for the right person to bring in full-time to lead this project.
We are a retail-focused, consumer-oriented web site. As such, you will need to have a strong understanding of the challenges involved in creating, updating, and promoting an online store. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who will analyze our current and proposed web strategies and work with us intensely to plan, revise, execute, and track the growth of our online business.
Job Details
• Develop, maintain, and improve our site with hand-coded HTML (DHTML, PHP) using CSS
• Integrate and improve online order processes with our backend in-house order fulfillment
• Coordinate media assets with our in-house art department
• Improve HTML emails
• Analyze existing online shopping software solution & develop improved system.
• Increase profile of our site through understanding the ins and outs of search rankings and Froogle
Skills
• 4+ years of hard coding experience in HTML. WISSIWYG is not acceptable. A loving familiarity with BBEdit.
• CSS experience
• DHTML, PHP, Javascript, Flash experience
• Experience with MySQL databases
• Clear communication skills, superior work ethic, a sense of humor and a serious appreciation for good design
• Candidates who know and love and own GAMA-GO products will be looked upon with much fondness
Please submit a plain-text or email resume (no word attachments) and links to projects you have worked on. References will be required. GAMA-GO is an equal-opportunity employer. Salary will be commensurate with skill-level.
