QA lead and volunteer tester coordinator at Wikimedia Foundation
July 13, 2011 2:13 PM
The Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit organization that supports Wikipedia and other wikis, has an opening for a QA lead who'd coordinate and lead testing efforts, both at the Foundation and among volunteers and others in the MediaWiki community.
We're looking for someone "who can help us write and perform test plans with shoestring and duct tape, i.e. using a combination of test automation, work with outside vendors, and volunteer-driven testing to strengthen our product quality," to quote my bosses.
The Wikimedia Foundation is not about monetizing eyeballs, our direction isn't set by VCs, and we're financially stable. We offer a fair, friendly, fun environment for talented engineers who want their individual contribution to result in making the world a better place for hundreds of millions of people. We also hire globally, not just people who are currently located in the Bay Area, or willing to move there.
Full job description & how to apply.
payscale: competitive
job type: full-time
