Member Relations/Events Associate

The Chicago Architecture Foundation seeks a creative self-starter to assist with membership, donor relations, marketing and event planning.

Required Skills:
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
• Excellent communication skills, including superior grammar and writing skills
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organization skills
• Strong desire and motivation to see CAF’s initiatives succeed
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficient in Raisers Edge with 1 to 3 years experience
• Experience working with Microsoft Office

Duties and Responsibilities

Membership and Data Administration
• Record and enter incoming memberships and donations into Raisers Edge received through mail, online and CAF store.
• Organize, maintain and update constituent records as necessary.
• Support person for the primary Membership coordinator.
• Support person for Raisers Edge systems.

Donor Groups and Events:
• Assist Manager of Member Relations and Events with coordinating a variety of events, ranging from CAF’s annual gala, Patron of the Year, and smaller events throughout the year. Duties include pulling mailing lists, sending invitations, tracking reservations, developing reports, and assisting with coordinating of event logistics.
• Staff development and CAF events as necessary (some weekend and evening availability expected).

Individual Giving and Annual Fund:
• Daily monitoring of mail and online giving to ensure all gifts $250 and up are personally acknowledged by Development Department within 24 hours.
• Send monthly renewal mailings and invoices to CAF donor groups, as well as acknowledgment letters.
• Assist Manager of Member Relations and Events with annual fund campaign- including developing plan and timeline, writing solicitation letters, pulling mailing lists and coordinating solicitations.
• Track pledges and produce correspondence regarding payment installments.

Web Content Management:
• Daily maintenance of Membership/individual giving/events-related content on the website, including copy, photos, documents, etc.
• Schedule, create, send, and monitor emails for events and member groups.
• Create new pages and parts of the website as necessary.
