CounterPULSE is one of San Francisco’s leading small venues for cutting-edge, interdisciplinary performance. CounterPULSE provides space and resources for emerging artists and cultural innovators, serving as an incubator for the creation of socially relevant, community-based art and culture. CounterPULSE acts as a catalyst for art and action; creating a forum for the open exchange of art and ideas, catalyzing transformation in our communities and our society. The Communications & Community Relations Manager works to expand the reach of the CounterPULSE community by designing and implementing strategies to build public awareness of CounterPULSE and its programs, engaging the public as audience members, participants, supporters, and donors. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for the performing arts and an enthusiastic commitment to building community through artistic engagement; the desire and ability to work in a fast-paced team-based environment; eloquence in the language of new media and social networking; and a unique vision for communicating about CounterPULSE to the world. This position offers significant potential for growth, with the opportunity to build and shape a communications department in a rapidly growing organization.
