Program Evaluator/Researcher
Full-time, $65,000 to $75,000/yr, depending on qualifications
The City and County of San Francisco is seeking to hire a Program Evaluator to conduct a variety of research and evaluation studies in the Child, Youth and Family Section of the Department of Public Health, Community Behavioral Health Services (CBHS). The studies will focus on the effectiveness of mental health and/or substance abuse treatment services provided to children, youth, and families in county behavioral health programs. Data sources may include institutional databases from DPH and other county agencies (e.g., child welfare, juvenile probation, school district) and data submitted by behavioral health clinicians. Under the general supervision of the CBHS Director of Research and Evaluation, the program evaluator will work with CBHS program staff to identify issues for study, extract or compile data sets, conduct statistical analyses, and prepare written reports and presentations. Position is funded until June 30, 2008, and may be extended pending funding.
Minimum requirements:
§ Masters degree or higher in psychology, sociology, social work, or related field
§ Two years of experience in an evaluation or research capacity in a human service field
§ Ability to interact in a professional and culturally sensitive manner with program staff
§ Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
§ Organized, efficient project manager
§ Trained in the use of Microsoft Windows Office software, including Word, Excel, and Access, and a statistical software package, preferably SPSS.
Desired
§ Knowledge of mental health and/or substance abuse research/evaluation
§ Experience working with health services databases
