IT Manager (Junior)

We're looking for an individual who loves working with both technology and people, someone with solid SysAdmin skills and customer service abilities. You'll need to solve problems on the fly, research and proactively recommend solutions, and work with some crazy (in a good way) individuals! KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. User Support - Solve the day-to-day issues involving computer hardware and software. Analyze user needs and investigate/develop solutions and services to meet them.
2. Server Maintenance & Administration - As directed, install, configure and maintain network file servers, e-mail, ftp, web and secure web servers. Maintain strong knowledge base of current trends and standards related to network administration and technology to ensure we maximize our technology position. Ensure timely application of patches & updates to the operating systems and applications. Proactively manage any issues and test results at the earliest stage possible.
Technical Skills:
Operating system expertise: Mac OSX Server, BSD, Linux, Windows 9x, 2000, XP, OS9, OSX, Windows 2000, 2003 Server
Application expertise: Microsoft Office (Windows & MAC), Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark Express, Retrospect
Expertise in networking: Cabling, routers, managed and unmanaged switches, printer spooling and TCP/IP, and Appletalk
Security: Expert knowledge in firewalls, encryption techniques, file permissions, and VPNs
Relational Database Experience: Design and implementation
Programming Experience: PHP, C, Visual Basic
payscale: $40,000 - $60,000 CDN
