Red Snapper are looking for a new web developer to join our technical team.
The successful candidate must be professional, a good communicator, passionate, enthusiastic, and a strong team player possessing a good sense of humour. They should be keen to broaden their skill sets and enthusiastic to take on new challenges. The ideal candidate would be pro-active, self-managed and able to show creative initiative.
The candidates must be:
* Able to mark-up web pages from designs using valid XHTML and CSS
* Have an understanding of JavaScript, DOM scripting and popular Javascript libraries
* Knowledgeable of W3C standards with regard to web technologies
* Experienced with compliance testing against multiple browsers and standards
* Able to use appropriate XHTML tags to convey semantic information
* Good understanding of SEO techniques and sitemaps
* Able to learn new languages and technologies quickly
* Able to spot and abstract patterns from code
* Comfortable working in a team and dealing with clients on a daily basis
* Be able to write clear documentation, specifications and requirements
* Familiar with object modeling, class and process flow diagrams
The role will involve the development and maintenance of new and existing websites and web applications. Daily workload will generally include:
* Planning and building websites in a CMS.
* Translating prototype XHTML/CSS designs into content managed websites.
* Analysis of requirements and authoring of website specifications.
* Developing success criteria and documentation.
* Quality control.
* Assisting the marketing department with client presentations.
* Assisting sales with technical feasibility and assessing business value.
* Configuring apache httpd and shell scripting.
* Some support-desk work.
