MetaFilter is looking for an experienced coder to assist with their site’s development of new features. As a site developer you will be working directly with MetaFilter’s core team to deliver implementation projects and create new site features. This is a part-time contract role (up to 15 hours per week) and will be fully remote.
 
Responsibilities:

- Execute existing project implementations
- Assist in designing new site features
- Participate in ongoing implementation decisions and internal projects
- Communicate with internal Tech and Admin team

Qualifications:

- Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
- Strong analytical and technical background
- Must be able to work independently, as well as, under supervision and stick to a schedule
- Excellent problem solving, research and analysis, technical, and leadership skills
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Required Skills:
- In depth Javascript knowledge
- In depth CSS knowledge
- In depth HTML knowledge

Desired skills:
- AWS experience, especially EC2 and S3
- SQL Server
- Git and GitHub
- Google optimization
- Experience with web accessibility
- Linux server config/admin
- ColdFusion – Expected to learn as you go


payscale: $35/hour
