The National Farmers Union – Ontario is conducting an investigation into farm labour issues in Ontario, including shortages of labour and challenges training and retaining skilled workers.

This project will include a mix of consultation, research, and stakeholder engagement. That work will build toward a final report clarifying the farm labour situation in Ontario and identifying practical next steps for action by farmers, farm organizations, government agencies, and policy-makers.

We are hiring a Project Coordinator for this project, to start as soon as possible. This is a full-time contract position with benefits; work schedule is flexible and mostly independent. NFU-O staff work remotely, provide their own office space and computer, and meet regularly by phone or videoconference. The successful candidate can be based anywhere in Ontario, but some travel within Ontario will be required for events.

payscale: $46,000 - $54,000 per annum prorated, as well as benefits package
