Interview Transcription, Copy Editing, Proofreading -- Los Angeles, CA.

I'm very good at writing words down and cleaning them up.
I'm looking for freelance gigs where I can send files over e-mail, Dropbox, Google Drive, or web-based submission forms. If you are in Los Angeles, particularly Hollywood, Downtown, or the southeast San Fernando Valley, we may be able to work out something on-site.
Currently, I'm transcribing interviews for a book project. My M.O. is removing the "um" and "y'know" filler terms and editing run-on sentences as unintrusively as possible, looking up correct spellings, and doing a small amount of fact-checking.
For copy-editing, my main goal is clarity and concision: eschewing words that pad out the pages, eliminating the passive voice, replacing vague verbiage with specifics, and fixing inconsistencies and punctuation and usage errors. General proofreading will focus on the latter.
My standard interview transcription rate is $1 per recorded minute. Copy-editing is $15 per hour of work, and proofreading is $12 per hour of work -- you and I will agree upfront about how many hours I will commit.
