Our company is seeking a network analyst position currently. We're looking for a motivated individual passionate about technology - the kind of person who really enjoys all aspects of networks, from design to implementation to troubleshooting. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administer and maintain all aspects of network security, including Cisco firewalls, Cisco and Netmotion VPN and software solutions such as Symantec antivirus and Websense.
Administer and maintain all network hardware and equipment including routers, switches, servers and other network peripherals.
Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions and access rights in Microsoft Active Directory
Investigate, recommend, schedule and deploy network and server upgrades, repairs and improvements.
Perform monitoring and analysis of network performance
Assist with preparation of reports for user and data access tracking to ensure the integrity and security of data.
Respond to incoming calls and emails regarding customer network and VPN issues
Manage and test backups of all servers and network equipment using Tivoli Storage Manager and Manage Engine’s Device Expert. Assist in development of procedures to ensure the integrity of backed up data.
Work with vendors and/or carriers during problem analysis/resolution as required
Provide phone and email support to mobile workforce and head office users
Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures, guides and check lists
Aid in development of disaster recovery plans and maintain current knowledge of plan executables.
Respond to emergency network outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Prepare and adhere to procedures for logging, reporting and statistically monitoring network and server performance and data.
Conduct research on network products, services, protocols and standards in support of development efforts. Evaluate and recommend for purchase network hardware and software products.
Develops, manages and reports on detailed project plans. Ensures effective corporate standard, system security, internal processing controls and audit controls are maintained.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL ATTAINMENT
University degree or Diploma in Information Technology related to subfield of network and system administration or security
Relevant network or security certifications preferred
3-5 years of network/security administration
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Strong fundamental understanding of networking principles and technologies (TCP/IP, SNMP, NAT and PAT as well as Cisco IOS and both switch and router architecture)
Experience with configuring and supporting VPN technologies (ipsec and SSL) for both site to site and end user network access.
Experience with Active Directory, Windows server 2003
Proficiency in documentation and ability to verbally articulate technical matters in lay terms
Strong written and oral communication skills
Experience maintaining and configuring Cisco based firewalls (Pix or ASA)
Experience managing virtualized systems and services hosted in a cloud (Asset)
Vendor Management experience (Asset)
