JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Network Administrator will be in charge of network infrastructure for all locations and datacenters, working with Active Directory and VPN connections. This position will also be working with VoIP technology. The function of this position is to provide day to day network support to staff & customers which can include address routine access, troubleshoot network and VPN connectivity problems, monitoring network performance, and help coordinate support for other in-house and web applications. As a Network Administrator it is important to be able to communicate well with others and document issues. This network administrator will report to the Manager, Systems Administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Configure, maintain and monitor routing, switching, wireless, VPN, firewall and load balancing hardware in a complex multi-site environment. Resolve network routing and switching issues. Audit system configuration to ensure data integrity and security.
- Plan, configure, maintain and proactively monitor communications circuits connecting multiple sites.
- Works with the Manager of Security on intrusion detection and prevention, network traffic analysis, encryption and other network security related technologies. Monitor and take action as a result of web and network security exploits.
- Works with application development teams to ensure code migrations align with rules set within web application and network firewalls and ensure firewall transaction patters are enforced.
- Prepare activity and status reports involving network activity, reliability and active projects as required.
- Provide insight and support for the evaluation, selection, and implementation of data communication infrastructure to ensure the integrity of the system, the adherence to industry and company standards, and the consistent application of technology.
- Keep proper documentation, based on current company standards, for all assigned systems and processes.
- Resolve critical system issues on a 24x7 basis and provide 24x7 on-call support as needed
- Provides support and communicates information to internal customers.
EDUCATION/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- 4 Year Degree or Higher with some exceptions, a major in Computer Science is preferred.
- 4+ years’ experience in network administration
- Familiarity with network scan/test tools.
- Experience in a Healthcare environment preferable.
- Possess a strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and Cisco network technology.
- Have a solid knowledgebase for troubleshooting complex networks.
- Critical thinking necessary for complex situations.
- Must be able to articulate, communicate, interpret and explain technical or complex information and comprehend written and verbal communication.
