The University of Washington Department of Global Health E-Learning Program has an outstanding opportunity open for a Temporary, Full-Time E-Learning Specialist. This position will be involved in producing e-learning courses and products with a global audience of healthcare workers and will contribute to important trainings delivered in low- and middle-income countries.
This position requires general skills in instructional design and e-learning development and is an excellent opportunity for a flexible, motivated person who is a quick learner, detail-oriented, and takes pride in one’s work.

Specific duties will vary based on the projects being undertaken, but may include the following:
- In conjunction with faculty and other experts, develop plans for developing e-learning content.
- Develop storyboards for e-learning.
- Use e-learning authoring tools to create e-learning modules.
- Supporting the capture of content from live lecture and class events.
- Using software tools to edit audio and synchronizing audio with slides for e-learning presentations.
- Assembling e-learning content into a learning management system (LMS).
- Providing technical support to students in online courses.
- Assisting faculty and subject matter experts in adapting learning content for e-learning formats.
- Participating in review and feedback meetings, keeping minutes, and implementing changes to e-learning products.
Qualified Candidates Should Have
- 3-4 years of experience developing, delivering, or supporting training in electronic formats.
- Experience with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Presenter and Articulate Storyline.
- Experience with lecture-capture software, such as Panopto.
- Experience using and configuring Learning Management Systems, such as Instructure Canvas.
- Familiarity with basic audio and video editing.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and sensitivity to communication across cultures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
- Ability to work flexibly in a complex international environment.
An Ideal Candidate Will Also Have
- Experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience working in international settings, particularly sub-Saharan Africa.
- Established interest in global health.
