The software developer will design, document and construct software solutions in support of the Paizo.com website and its associated applications. The position will be a member of a collaborative development team working to support components of the Paizo.com infrastructure with an eye towards sustainability. This position is for our office located in Redmond, Washington.
Responsibilities
Codes, compiles, and debugs software by following functional and design specifications
Provides feedback for and participates in architectural design
Performs literate programming, using adequate commenting and documentation
Adopts industry standard and team-specific coding practices
Provides reasonable estimate of time and materials required to complete goals outlined by the Development Manager
Qualifications
3-5 years Java development experience
3-5 years CSS/HTML/Javascript/JQuery experience
1-2 years of experience with relational databases, preferably MySQL
Ability to work as part of a highly collaborative team
Ability to work proactively and take initiative in a fast moving environment.
Ability to work at all levels of application development (front end, middle tier and back end)
Ability to use version control
Ability to design for scalability and sustainability
Experience with E-Commerce and/or CMS systems a plus
Experience with WebObjects a plus
Experience with Ember.js, Node.js a plus
Experience with Unix shell scripting a plus
Experience with c# .NET a plus
Experience working with Amazon AWS a plus
Experience with gaming community (particularly RPG) a plus
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
