Entry-Level Risk Analyst at Mobile Payments Startup

Zong, Inc. is the leading mobile payment service used by the top online gaming sites, virtual worlds, social games, and social networks.
We are looking for an exceptional entry-level analyst to support our Risk Management operations. Risk Management is an essential business function that reduces exposure to fraud for Zong, as well as for the merchants and consumers who rely on us for payments.
As a Risk Analyst, you will work on:
* Risk investigations: Review and take action on accounts and transactions flagged for suspicious activity
* Risk rules and algorithms: Create and enhance risk algorithms based on evolving fraud trends
* Fraud monitoring and reporting: Analyze and report levels of refunds and chargebacks
* Fraud management tools: Contribute to enhancing the fraud management toolkit, utilizing proprietary and third party data
* Risk analytics: With input from other team members, build robust statistical models to predict levels of risk and optimize risk policies
General requirements:
* Strong analytical mindset, combined with intellectual curiosity and a very high level of attention to detail
* Comfort with ambiguity, as well as regular context-switching in a fast-paced environment
* Self-motivation, high energy and a strong work ethic
* The ability to work independently and to ask for help as needed
* Strong communication skills, including ability to translate complex technical and statistical terms into layman's terms
* Permission to work in the U.S. for at least one full year. (After a year, we are open to sponsoring an H1-B visa.)
Educational and technical requirements:
* Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative area, e.g., Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics
* Coursework in statistics and modeling is a strong plus
* Experience analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets a strong plus
* Expertise in Excel, SQL, Access and/or R are a strong plus
