Requirements for this position include:
*A master's degree in library science from an accredited college or university
* Knowledgeable about web 2.0 technologies and experience in producing web content
* Have a broad grasp of library functions and operations: serials management, cataloging, inter-library loan
* Exceptional computing skills
* Familiarity with basic accounting principles
* Excellent writing, editing and communication skills
* Capability of assigning priorities, and working independently
Highly desired qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline
* Basic knowledge of zoology and conservation issues
* Ability to use video conferencing and digital camera equipment
Essential Duties for this position include:
* Ability to develop and maintain web-based information
* Ability to troubleshoots all departmental technology problems
* Ability to researche emerging technologies and web-based resources and recommend implementation appropriate to the department’s needs
* Ability to manage all serial subscriptions, submitting orders, handling claims, binding, and inter-library loans.
This position will catalog and proces books, orders supplies, pays bills and assists with budget preparations. Position will also provide advice and training on using library resources and assist in the training of staff and volunteers.
