Bioinformatics programmer in Toronto

The Hoffman Lab at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto, ON, seeks new members for our team. We develop machine learning techniques to better understand chromatin biology. These models and algorithms transform high-dimensional functional genomics data into interpretable patterns and lead to new biological insight. A key focus of the lab is to train a new generation of computational biologists.

We seek a programmer to develop new releases of the Segway semi-automated genomic annotation software and for working on other computational biology projects.

Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computational biology, computer science, electrical engineering, a biological science, statistics, or physics. Knowledge of Python and Unix environments.

Preferred qualifications: Experience in computational biology and machine learning research. Knowledge of R, C, and C++.
