Teacher of English as a Foreign Language in Mexico

Full time teaching position at a reputable and growing school in Queretaro, Mexico.

Located two and a half hours from Mexico City, Queretaro is a prosperous town that continues to grow, while retaining its historic center which is preserved as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This company is looking for native English speakers from all countries to work full time teaching classes both in companies and at the school. Class size is small, ranging from one to ten. Transportation to and from companies is always provided. Contact hours range from 20 to 30 and, while you will be working full time, it should never feel overwhelming. The school is equipped with a full resource library and internet.

Certification (such as ITTO, Celta, Trinity, SIT Tesol, etc) is highly preferred, though not an absolute requirement. Experience is a bonus and will help you win a higher salary, but it is not at all required. If you don't have a certificate, though, you should have some experience.

This is not a job offer that I will have the final say on, but I have been invited to help in the search for my replacement. I am very satisfied with this company and would recommend it to a friend. If you are interested, please contact me either via email or mefimail and we can chat about what you are looking for and whether or not this is a good fit. If you think it is, I will be more than happy to present your CV to the directors with a personal recommendation.

It's also a great place to get your foot in the door for those with a longer-term interest in China.

Our location, Shenzhen, is probably the greenest city in China and has some of the cleanest air too [relative to other Chinese cities]. In 1981 it became China's first experiment in free-market capitalism and has grown from a fishing village bordering Hong Kong to a major metropolitan city drawing people from every quarter of China hoping to build a new life for themselves and their families.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

- very respectable Western-style housing
- fun, mostly young colleagues

- a native English speaker
- a college graduate
- a "people" person
- good with all age groups, particularly children
- able to adjust to a very fluid work environment

* Hong Kong and Macau are an hour away, Bangkok and Bali are $50 flights away, and almost anywhere in China is a < $50 [sleeper-]train ticket away/small></>
