The project I work on is currently looking for awesome software engineers in the DC area. Most of our work is in Ruby and XSLT, so experience with either is useful, but not strictly necessary, as we assume that talented developers will be able to learn new languages without difficulty. Experience with clustering, agile development methodologies (we use SCRUMM and some pair programming), web services and unit testing are also potentially useful. Familiarity with Unix is required. A security clearance is a major plus- new hires who don't have one will be sponsored for one (as such, we can only hire U.S. citizens). I work for a cool company. I want to share this space with a clever MeFite. We work at the San Francisco outpost of our e-commerce mothership back in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Despite having midwestern origins, our office culture is very west coast. On any given day a small handful of folks show up, make things together, become friends then go home -- leaving the typical politics, stress and overwork up to the folks back east. My coworkers are smart, humble, exceedingly competent and some of my closest friends. We're not a clique, none are hipsters and all have a smashing sense of humor and charm. Our engineers aren't shoved off into a dark hole to churn out software like typing monkeys. On the other hand, none of them are Jeebus or regarded as such. We don't feed egos, nor do we coddle the introverted. The pay is great, widely negotiable. We are seeking to augment our current development team with a strong software development manager to oversee software development efforts within the Mifos Initiative. The Mifos Software Development Manager will oversee a small team of staff developers and coordinate with external developers – contract and volunteer – as well as the Mifos program management team to build a world-class platform for microfinance. Movable Type Expert Needed

I need someone who knows movable type like the back of their hand and can write me out step by step instructions for simple movable type questions, such as: If I use a three-column template from http://www.thestylearchive.com ... how do I customize the right-hand column so that I can toss my html code into that column? Or exactly what do I click if using SmartFtp? They have what looks like a great visual tutorial, but by step #2 the visual is different from what I downloaded and the tutorial is just speeding along! I have reached a point where I would rather look stupid and pay someone to stop me rather than just keep being stupid with no end in sight! So! I'd like to be able to email you simple questions like that from time to time and know that you will have the right answer easily. There are other programs whose help files frustrated me, although I "get it" quite easily once someone shows me ... so a big plus would be if you felt confident that you could read the manual on other, unfamiliar, software programs and extract the answers for me as well. I think they'll usually all be "duh!" questions like the example. As for pay, I'm open to your suggestions, but think being able to pay you via paypal, per question or time period or page or whatever would work best. Thanks for reading!
