<title> Systems Engineer (yay puppet) at Wesabe</title>
	<link>http://jobs.metafilter.com/mefi/404</link>
<description>Wesabe (&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.wesabe.com&quot;&gt;www.wesabe.com&lt;/a&gt;) is looking for a great systems engineer to help us built out our personal finance site. We have a fantastic group of engineers, a wonderful and very supportive user community, and a project that both helps people and makes for a great business.

Our offices are in downtown San Francisco, right near the Montgomery BART station. We have an informal working environment, but a set of developers who care enormously about making the site responsive, secure, and helpful.

We&#8217;ve been using Puppet extensively to configure and maintain servers, and have had great experience with it. We&#8217;ve also been using Xen and Ubunutu and both have served us well. The main application is developed in Ruby on Rails, but we&#8217;ve been able to keep it performant and available&#8212;a challenge but a fun one.

I&#8217;m looking for someone who likes being given a lot of latitude to make decisions (not someone who wants to be told what to do every day). We have a great security architect on board to support your work. We think operations is critical to making a great web company, and we&#8217;re looking for someone with the same view.

Take a look around to see what our users have to say about us, and the reviews and awards we&#8217;ve gotten for our site. We&#8217;d love to hear from you and I think you&#8217;d be very happy meeting our group and working with us.

Interested? Send a plaintext or PDF resume to oneofus@wesabe.com.</description>
