	<title>Project Coordinator</title>
	<link>http://jobs.metafilter.com/mefi/596</link>
<description>Scientists and Engineers for America (SEA) is searching for an energetic Project Coordinator, with a background or interest in science and health policy issues, to support the development of our projects. This position entails working with SEA staff, contract employees, and other participants to ensure the timely development and implementation of SEA&#8217;s programs. The Project Coordinator will manage a variety of SEA&#8217;s programming, including our website, the SHARP Network, and our news blast services. Experience with web design and programming is desirable. The Project Coordinator will be involved with SEA&#8217;s student chapters by expanding the program, supporting the groups, and creating new programming. The position also entails managing and recruiting interns, as well fundraising through grants and donor management. This work allows for creativity in developing programs, but also requires significant attention to detail and follow-up. Additionally, the candidate will provide general administrative support to SEA&#8217;s Executive Director and Board of Directors as well as help coordinate candidate training and chapter events. Along with project coordination duties, the position involves policy research and strategic thinking. This job entails a significant amount of writing, so proven ability to write clearly and concisely is required.

SEA fills a critical gap in science and engineering policy by drawing direct connections between the science policy issues and elections. Our focus is on both increasing the political activism of scientist and engineers and ensuring that critical science and health policy issues are made a focal point of political debate.

Additional Qualifications:

-Excellent writing skills and demonstrated independent research skills
-An interest in science policy and politics
-Ability to handle multiple tasks, manage priorities, and pay attention to details
-Experience with project coordination desired
-Experience with web based programs including basic HTML, and blog software is desirable. Experience with WordPress, MediaWiki, and PHP a plus.
-Familiarity with grant writing and fundraising is desirable.
