Basically- You're taking over my job. When I entered this position it was strictly online marketing- Yakking with bloggers, running online contests, tending to the Facebook Page, dreaming up new ways to connect with people online, sending out the monthly newsletter etc etc. My yen to get things done combined with my Comp Sci 102 knowledge led me to create a series of custom apps that allow us to be more flexible and get things done more quickly. What this means is that it's no longer strictly a marketing gig- It's like 1/2 web development, 1/2 marketing. So here's what you'd need to get on board: -PHP 102 skillz. I did a lot of documentation, but if a problem pops up you need to have that core understanding of programming languages to fix it. -HTML/CSS skillz. We have a graphic designer, but you'll need to code. Our e-commerce system is VERY flexible, which means it also breaks and bends in all kinds of ways. Being able to diagnose and fix the problem is very important. -MySQL 101 skillz. Those PHP apps? They interact with SQL. A lot. Know your UPDATES and INSERTS and you'll be fine. -Imagination. We don't do ads. Which means that we need to get the word out somehow. Wanna have a blogger lunch at our restaurant? Great. Make it happen. Have a cool idea for a Flash recipe book? We sort of hate Flash, but make it cool and we can bear it. We are a small gourmet food company with big growth in the last 2-3 years and very healthy forecast for the year ahead. I'm looking for someone competent with drupal to make some cosmetic (not functional) mods to a website. It is an old web site which I recently had converted to drupal. The developer is a friend. He stays covered up. For a variety of reasons, he is unwilling to work for me for pay, but at the same time, has bigger clients that demand all of his available time. Rather than pester him to death, I thought I'd investigate finding someone to complete what he started. He migrated my klunky HTML mess to drupal, with an integral blog. The site works just fine, but requires cosmetic mods. I have two .pdf documents which I will provide that show the desired end product and a stock photo that these are based upon. HTML / CSS for simple web site

Web site's already designed, I just need someone to code it up. It's one page with a nav bar (all pages will be the same layout). It needs to be standards-compliant. It is, I believe, a very simple layout: Top row is logo Under that is 4-item nav bar Under that is two column layout for text That's it. I can't imagine it would take anyone proficient with CSS/HTML more than 90 minutes to pull off (you could probably adapt a site you've already coded). Two of them are rich-interface (although you won't have to do the AJAX-y stuff, just the template code), while the rest are static pages and forms. Graphic mockups are all done and the spec is written -- you just have to code it. You: -Have experience putting together standards-compliant, lightweight (X)HTML and CSS. -Have a portfolio that shows off what you can do. I've decided I no longer want my blog to be my landing page on my site. I love wordpress, used it for years, but two things concern me about it: 1) the endless WP updgrade syndrome, & 2) it's a magazine theme, which I like, but it's overwhelming for a front page. See www.eco-modernism.com Here's the nutshell: I provide 2 main services, plus a blog. More on the blog in a sec. The 2 main services are: 1) I design green, modern kitchens starting with IKEA base components, finishing with sustainable materials like bamboo & recycled glass tile. There are more sub-duties this breaks down into, but that's the gist of it. Most of the content is already there on pages within the blog. 2) I provide a runner service for people in central and eastern NC to the closest IKEA store, so that those who can't or don't want to make the drive can still get their beloved IKEA goodies. There are sub-widgety things associated with this service that are database related. So I want to create some simple, lots-of-white-space, easy to nav, clean pages for my 2 main services. I need multi browser compliant CSS, a clear landing page so people know very quickly which way to go, and help automating the organization and confirmation of run orders. I also am thoroughly clueless how to move the blog from the main web address without losing anything. (Probably something simple, but I'm a mere hacker & it's not pretty.) If you want to talk more about the project, I also have a powerpoint I've been cobbling together with concept ideas of what I *think* I want. I'm open to suggestions. The site is hosted with Dreamhost, with whom I'm happy. Ideally I'd like to have it done by the end of February, definitely by mid March.

Symfony GUI Developer

I'm looking for assistance completing a GUI interface in a Symfony project. You would be working on an existing code base. Multiple boxes are laid out using CSS driven from database values for height, width, X-position and Y-position, all of which are percentages of the parent box container. You would implement: * Save functionality: Users can interactively drag and drop boxes. Clicking a Save button should calculate new values for X and Y positions of all boxes, then update their associated database entries. * Resize functionality: Create corner resize handles on boxes to allow users to interactively modify box height and width. Clicking a Save button would calculate new height and width values, then save them to the database. Work would be entirely online, you would save your changes to an SVN branch. You should be familiar with the Symfony framework.
