	<title>Server-Side Software Engineer</title>

We are currently looking for a talented Server Engineer for the Internet Archive. Specifically this engineer will add an interface to this system for all the Zotero users and other projects as they arise. Zotero client application is a popular easy-to-use research tool that enables scholars to gather, organize, and cite information sources to support their research. 

You will help write software that manages approximately 2 petabytes of data across 2,000 machines, with seamless interoperability to the Zotero application. Visit www.archive.org and www.zotero.org for more information. 

This is part of an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation funded project for the Internet Archive to develop new services that will aid scholarly sharing, collaboration, citation, and annotation. The Internet Archive will work with the Zotero project team from George Mason University to develop a shared Information Commons (the &#8220;Zotero Commons&#8221;) for long-term archiving and public access to content contributed by scholars using the Zotero client application.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

&#xb7; Manage process for Zotero Commons development and implementation, including interactions with Zotero Project Director at George Mason University and his development team. 
&#xb7; Develop API for easy data exchange between Zotero server and Internet Archive Data Repository 
&#xb7; Design and implement workflow process for applying OCR (optical character recognition) to scanned documents provided by Zotero users 
&#xb7; Design user interface and item identifiers for Zotero Commons content in collaboration with Zotero Commons team 
&#xb7; (possible) Design and implement application to upload new bibliographic information from Zotero Commons items into OpenLibrary collection 

REQUIREMENTS: 

&#xb7; Must have 4+ years of industry experience with at least 1 year of object oriented server experience: PHP preferred 
&#xb7; Experience with Open ID preferred 
&#xb7; Search engine experience indexing content 
&#xb7; Familiarity with Lucene or comparable libraries 
&#xb7; Must be able to develop new UI with both existing and new code bases 
&#xb7; Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience

	<description>Web related start-up company is in need of a senior level Linux System Administrator for an short-term contract.

We are in need of someone to help us quickly setup our web-hosting cluster. You must be proficient with Linux high-availability technologies, including projects like Ultra Monkey, MySQL replication, Lustre FS, DRDB, etc. You must also be familiar with advanced administration of projects like Postfix, Apache httpd, PHP and MySQL. You must be very attentive to detail and capable of working autonomously.

This is a contract position, expected to last no more than 40 hours. You will work directly with our Director of Technology to become familiar with our application, available hardware and will then quickly create a plan of action and begin to install, configure and test our high availability cluster.

We are comfortable with you telecommuting for most of the work, however we would like the initial planning and review to be conducted at our Downtown Denver location.
