Sr. Network Engineer - Sr. Consulting Engineer

The organization I work for is looking to hire a network engineer in the Los Angeles area, in San Francisco and in Minneapolis, MN. We're looking for a CCIE level candidate with 5+ years consistent experience in designing, deploying and supporting highly available networks. Candidates must have experience on Cisco based firewalls, switches, routers and load balancers. Candidates must hold a current CCIE certification number or have equivalent experience. Familiarity with F5 Networks and Citrix products is highly desirable. We're a consulting organization consequently candidates must be comfortable with travel (up to 25%), customer interaction, support of delivered products and the occasional session of strange hours in the interest of supporting the customer. We are a decentralized group of engineers, management is technical, most engineers telecommute if they don't have specific client or office commitments. Our salary offering is competitive and the benefits package is excellent. Our client base is mostly US centric but we are expanding rapidly in to the EMEA market. We're looking primarily for a contract to hire individual but can consider direct hire depending on the qualifications of the applicant, all candidates must pass a security and drug screening. I'm looking for an experienced Systems Administrator with Debian, Windows, and Cisco or HP networking experience, plus formidable LAMP development chops, to join a 9-person IT team at one of the most innovative public libraries in the country. Here are the details of the position: Regular Staff Position Job No.: 07-037 Job Title: Systems Administrator Department: Information Access & Systems Supervisor: Manager, IAS Pay Range: $51,998.00 - $64,998.00 Union Position: No Benefits: Yes Opening Date: 2007-03-14 Closing Date: 2007-03-28 (Application form Required) Position Summary: Under the direction of the Information Access and Systems (IAS) Manager, the Systems Administrator's responsibilities include infrastructure planning, implementation, administration and maintenance, as well as in-house software planning, development and development coordination, implementation and documentation. The Systems Administrator ensures the successful management and smooth functioning of the network infrastructure, network servers and software applications in use at the Library. The Systems Administrator works closely with the Manager and members of the IAS team in testing, acquiring, developing, implementing and maintaining network management solutions and software applications used by both the staff and the public in a high-availability, user-focused environment. Minimum Qualifications include: * Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Cisco CCNP certification. * Minimum 5 years experience administering a Windows Network. * Minimum 5 years experience administering Linux-based servers. * Minimum 4 years software development experience with MySQL, PHP, and Apache. * Thorough knowledge of network infrastructure and firewalls. * Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. * Self motivation and the ability to work well as a member of a team. * Project Management experience.
