Arts Alliance Labs, Inc. builds highly scalable, advanced technology products and systems for entertainment businesses. Our focus is on the development and deployment of new technologies that better serve the online interactive community and the industry that supports them. Recent projects include the development of Digital Cinema and Video-on-Demand systems including integration with Windows Media Center, television advertising creation and placement systems, and political campaign sites (Volunteer.JohnKerry.com, HillaryClinton.com, and CorzineforGovernor.com).
We seek a highly qualified web, UI and interactive designer. This Full-Time employee will be the first graphics design oriented addition to our small, devoted team and though we are looking for an interactive-specific designer, we expect that this new hire to be have an understanding of identity and brand design as well as a provisional cognizance of dynamic web technologies. A great deal of independence will be combined with direct collaboration with software architects, developers, and product partners in London.
Qualified Applicants Should Have:
• A familiarity with most front-end web technologies and the opportunities and limitations they present; i.e. XHTML, CSS, Web Standards, JavaScript, and Flash. Designers who have worked with web developers are encouraged to apply.
• Experienced in Photoshop, Illustrator, Image Ready, or similar tools.
• Exceptional understanding of color, layout, process flow, and interactivity
• In-depth knowledge of user interface design principles, information architecture, usability methodologies, industry standards and trends, and platform standards
• Experience working at a consulting company a plus
• Bachelor’s and 3+ years of interactive design experience
• Strong ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
Because Arts Alliance Labs, Inc. designs software for new media applications, our requirements for a designer extend beyond the usual necessities of meeting the demands of our consumers. We need you to meet the needs of a terrain where more sophisticated design in a highly competitive market are commonplace. Your design will sell the product and create demand in many cases.
You will be the 7th employee in our software company based in Boston’s South End. While we will grow when necessary, our goal is to build a sustainable long term business and core team. You will help form the identity of the company, not only in the visual aesthetic of its applications, but also in our attitude, reputation, and the nature of the projects we undertake. This is a chance to be on the forefront of the deployment of new technology in a growing market. Our small team builds high leverage software so we are in need of high leverage design. Though we expect only qualified applicants, your portfolio should speak for itself. You must be tolerant of a dynamic role in the company that will change over time as the company grows and its design needs progress. The founder’s previous projects have included architecting the Microsoft Passport product and co-founding PeoplePC.
