The Smithsonian American Art Museum (Washington, DC) is seeking an outside contractor to be a writer for its blog, Eye Level. Writers should possess a professional knowledge of online journalistic research and copy writing. They should have knowledge of American art and show writing examples that are conducive to a blog audience: relatively short, pithy, inviting, and intriguing. Our target readers include general art audiences, art historians, curators, artists, commercial art gallery and auction workers, bloggers and art museum workers. Previous blog writing and journalism experience a plus. An ability to promote and encourage a community of commentors is essential.
