Department of Arts, Languages & Philosophy - Assistant Professor of Spanish

The University of Missouri-Rolla, Department of Arts, Languages & Philosophy, seeks to fill an Assistant Professor position in Spanish beginning Fall 2007. This will be a tenure track appointment for a particularly well-qualified applicant. Minimum requirements are a Ph.D. in Spanish and a native or near-native command of Spanish and English. We are particularly interested in excellent teaching. The candidate should show promise of excellent scholarship/research. Primary duties will be teaching undergraduate Spanish courses including language, literature, and linguistics at all levels, advising students pursuing a Spanish minor and serving as faculty advisor for the Spanish Club. Interest in multimedia approaches in teaching and computer assisted language learning is desirable. The salary is competitive, based on qualifications and experience.
