Communication intern at Equality California

Equality California, the state's largest advocacy organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality, is looking for communications interns. Interns will work from the West Hollywood office to support the award-winning external and internal communications at EQCA, on projects such as creating an e-newsletter for EQCA, creating public education materials around transgender equality and/or the Affordable Care Act, and supplementing our social media outreach strategies. The internship is unpaid, but college credit may be granted based on your educational institution. This will be hard work, but fun and rewarding, with experienced communication professionals helping the interns build real world skills.

Requirements: Strong verbal and written communications skills, demonstrated history of completing self-directed projects, commitment to LGBT equality.

Preferred qualifications: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in communications or political science; familiarity with AP Style; familiarity with graphic design programs such as Illustrator or Photoshop (or equivalent, e.g. GIMP); video editing and production experience; social media savvy. Applicants eligible for college credit preferred.

Schedule negotiable; full time interns preferred.
