Nucleus Medical Art (our parent company) is located in Kennesaw, Georgia (about 20 minutes north of Atlanta). In business since 1997, we currently have 24 employees; composed of medical illustrators, sales and marketing people, developers, and support staff. Our parent company’s primary pursuit is the creation and sale of high-quality, best-of-breed medical illustrations for the legal, healthcare, and publishing markets.

ParticleWeb Services was created in February of 2003 and is a subunit of Nucleus Medical Art that specializes in the design and development of high-quality web-based applications for clients from all industries. The creation of the ParticleWeb business has allowed us to take our more than eight years of experience in creating high-quality, data-driven web presences and offer that to outside clients. Demand for those services has now surpassed the ability of our existing employees to fill, so we’re currently looking for additional help.

More importantly, we have launched a brand new web application in a booming industry that is currently under-served. We have a strong need for able PHP developers to help us keep up with demand for feature additions and customizations to this new application. Consequently, we have an immediate position open for an individual who meets the following requirements to perform the following responsibilities.

Requirements

• Three or more years of web site development experience, with demonstrably solid PHP skills
• Experience creating database-driven sites that are maintainable and cleanly implemented
• Ability to develop both PHP and HTML in a plain text editor, without WYSIWYG tools
• Confident, capable, and pleasant communicator with company clients and other employees
• Experience assessing a task, formulating an approach to completing the task, and implementing the solution
• Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely
• Willing to become a permanent, full-time, onsite employee during ordinary business hours
• Willing to work on an Apple workstation with Apple-compatible tools (BBEdit, TextWrangler, MacSFTP, Safari, etc.)
• Apple workstation, Apple XServe, and Red Hat Linux experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Development and extension of a set of existing web-based applications based on LAMP
• Development of new and existing static and database-driven web sites, both internally and for outside clients
• Interfacing with outside clients to create proposals, gather input, and make deliveries
• Telephone follow up with ParticleWeb customers about outstanding proposals
• Telephone follow up with ParticleWeb customers about outstanding design and site approvals
• Other duties as assigned
