The candidate will have responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Finance function and to ensure it is being run correctly and efficiently. The candidate will be expected to add value on a strategic level by defining the future direction of the Finance function in the context of the company’s strategic goals and objectives. The role will involve extensive liaison with the Managing Director, Senior Management Team and relevant external contacts.
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE –
The key requirements of the role are as follows:
Develop and drive the finance strategy in conjunction with the overall company strategy and objectives.
Co-ordinate and implement business-critical programmes or projects as required.
Provide a suite of financial management information to the Managing Partner and Senior Management Team.
Ensure a high quality of financial information is available to support operations and to create and maintain the procedures, framework and system to support information production.
Control and manage the efficient operation of the finance systems, operations, processes and procedures.
Actively drive through strong financial controls and processes.
Proactive in creating and issuing new company policies and procedures
Ensure the Finance function is compliant under all statutory and regulatory requirements.
Provide key support to business projects as a project sponsor, stakeholder or contributor as required.
Set up and actively manage all partnerships with key outsourced partners.
Lead the ongoing development of the Finance function and its staff.
Comprehend the dynamics of an international environment and the potential financial impact of business decisions.
Liaise with the Finance Function in Paris
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS:
Qualified member of ACCA, ICAEW or CIMA with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience
Strong technology background
Currently working as a director, or equivalent, ideally within the international insurance market
Excellent interpersonal, people management skills and leadership qualities
Excellent organisational and planning capabilities
Ability to work to deadlines and deliver under pressure
Have the ability to think strategically and relate with the senior management
Possess the ability to work independently and with rigour
Encourage and support strategic change
Fluency in other languages, especially French, is highly desirable
