October 1, 2007 1:18 PM

Austin-based Builder Homesite Inc. (BHI) is seeking contract/freelance visual designers to create interfaces for dynamic e-commerce websites.

This gig is for you if: You have at least 3 years of experience designing the look-and-feel for high profile business websites. Your keen eye for aesthetics, layout and design should be made obvious by a Web UI design portfolio containing highly professional, creative page designs.

For this project, you will primarily be asked to produce layered PSD templates and custom icon illustrations (if needed) from supplied wireframe sketches and software requirements.

Design examples for RIA or "Web 2.0 style" interfaces are a plus. Contractors located within the Austin, TX area are preferred.

This gig is NOT for you if: Most of your visual design work consists of static personal sites, MySpace backgrounds, blog templates, etc. This is also NOT about creating front-end development assets such as HTML, Javascript, CSS, etc.

Project timing: Applicants must be available to start by Monday, October 15th for a concept development period up to 2 calendar weeks, with additional design work to be determined pending concept selection.

To apply: Submit the following information to techjobs [at] builderhomesite.com. Please enter "Contract Web Designer" as the subject of your email message.
1. Portfolio of e-commerce/business website UI designs (at least 75% design ownership for each work displayed) completed within the past 2-4 years. Providing a link to an online portfolio is a plus.
2. Hourly rate, fees, etc.
3. Contact information (email, telephone)

BIDDING IS NOT REQUIRED. Candidates' fees must be competitive, but selection will be made primarily on the quality of visual design work completed.
