Project Manager
April 3, 2019 9:15 AM

Want to work with progressive nonprofits and mission-driven organizations alongside a solid crew of smart people? Then ask yourself…
  • When you are working with a group, do you find yourself organizing tasks and helping to keep everyone's ducks in a row?

  • Do you love a good "to do" list, agenda, flowchart, or diagram?

  • Are you and your calendar very, very close?

  • Do you like finding the most efficient way to get something done?

  • At the end of a conversation about an idea or project, do you feel the urge to recap the plan or talk about what comes next?

  • In short, are you one of the more organized people in the room?

If you answered "yes" to a few of these questions, we'd love to talk to you.

Advomatic is hiring a project manager to work closely with our team to manage web development and marketing projects. We don't care if you've ever officially been called a Project Manager. We just care that you act like a project manager. We'll adjust the title to match your experience level.

REQUIREMENTS

As a Project Manager at Advomatic, you would:

  • Oversee client intake and day to day activity for our support services.

  • Set up and run technical projects using the process frameworks and tools developed by our team, recommending refinements along the way.

  • Stay closely tuned to issues or bumps that come up in projects.

  • Manage communication between and among client and internal project team regarding needs, expectations, and requirements.

  • Schedule and run meetings efficiently.

  • Keep a close eye on budgets and timelines, adjusting, updating, reporting and communicating where needed to manage them.

  • Coordinate the day to day activity of our marketing efforts, keeping our blog, social feed, newsletter, and events on track.

Skills and Experience

  • Over three years of experience in a non-profit or client services organization coordinating projects, campaigns, or other initiatives.

  • Experience working with customers or clients, managing relationships and expectations.

  • Ability to communicate clearly, directly, and concisely, and to say difficult things that nobody wants to hear with both firmness and empathy.

  • Ability to read the "feeling in the room," to glean personality types and communication styles and to adjust or intervene to make things go smoothly.

  • Enjoy working collaboratively with other people, to listen deeply, leave room for their input, and adjust to their needs.

  • Ability to see red flags and vague or problematic parts of a plan and figure out how to make them go away, or not be there in the first place.

  • Incredible attention to detail. When applying please start your cover letter with “Dear Advoteam,"

  • Strong self-management skills - you almost never drop the ball, and love making lists.

  • Amazing organizational and time management skills, and an ability to do several things at once.

Bonus Skills + Experience

  • Familiarity with design, content strategy or UX design, preferably in an online/interactive setting.

  • Experience working with databases or content management systems like Drupal or Wordpress. Familiarity with basic terminology and website design/build processes.

  • Experience with digital marketing.

  • Experience with online help desk ticketing systems.

This is a full time staff position. No consultants/freelance. Remote work possible. US timezones only. NYC area preferred.
