Non-profit communication expert; creative freelancing
March 21, 2015 8:42 PM

Until recently, I worked for the largest LGBT statewide non-profit in America as the communication manager. I wrote, edited, photographed, designed and did web updates.

One of the things I learned was that I really love working hard to make the world a better place, and now I'm looking for more opportunities to do that.

Currently I'm doing freelance consulting for another non-profit (including grant writing and program review; run by a MeFite), and picking up other freelance gigs in a variety of media, from shooting press conferences to writing essays. I had wound down on my freelance commitments while with my previous employer, and I'm enjoying flexing some more creative skills again.

I'm a communication jack of all trades, which also means that I'm good at communicating across disciplines and working with teams to translate quantifiable goals into clear tasks.

Other things I've working on recently: Photography book reviews for the Picture Professional, a story on Tulare County's updated general plan for California Planning and Development Report, and campaign shots for California Senator Ricardo Lara.
