Two full-time tenure-track 9-month positions

Position Summary
Responsibilities include teaching 12 hours of upper and lower-level technical writing and/or composition per semester; holding office hours, providing meaningful and timely feedback to students, advising, providing service to university, college and/or department, participation in assessment and remaining current in content area(s).
Required Qualifications
--Ph.D. in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or related field
(Ph.D. must be in hand by August 1, 2015)
--Demonstrated ability to effectively teach undergraduates
Additional Qualifications to Be Considered
Undergraduate teaching experience, particularly in teaching 100, 200 and/or 300 level writing.
Essential Duties
-- Teach face-to-face and on-line classes of upper and lower-level composition, technical writing and/or business writing per semester and hold regular office hours (a 4/4 annual teaching load)
-- Participate in ongoing professional development and service
-- Participate in curriculum development
-- Contribute to the ongoing development of the department through administration, committee work, community outreach, leadership, and scholarship
-- Effective teaching by way of effective communication, assessment of student learning and adaptation to various levels of student preparation
-- Provide up-to-date coursework and course-related materials
-- Use teaching-related technologies when determined appropriate
-- Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment
-- Meet with classes at their scheduled times
