Mikrotik Router Configuration
June 19, 2014 2:47 PM

I'm looking for someone experienced with Mikrotik RouterOS to help me tweak the setup on my home router.

I've got a RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN, which connects my neighbours homes to my network, so they can access my Media Server. (They're all connected via a single physical interface port on the RB2011).

Currently I'm using Queues to allow them full access to the mediacenter, but slow access to the WAN gateways, but it's a bit of a pain, because I've only hooked the Queues up on IP ranges/addresses and I'd like to set the limit based on the physical port they're connected to on my router, since that is a better dividing line for my setup. So that, for example, ports 1-7 get unfettered access to everything (my use) and port 8 is the 'neighbour' connection and gets directed to gateway #2, limited to 1Mbit/0.25Mbit for external addresses, but full speed to my media server.

I'd also like some QoS stuff built in, and some filtering (P2P etc) so that if they do use that link for Internet stuff, it hardly affects me.

If you're interested, drop me a message and I'll doodle up a more detailed description of the current setup, backups of the config, you can let me know what you think it'll cost and we'll go from there.

I've also got a couple of other more business related things this may lead to, so let me know if you are available for similar future work (but don't discount yourself now thinking it'll help!)
