ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Write and edit standard and non-standard responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for Mid-Market and Major/National Accounts and other groups meeting established criteria.

2. Ensure the effective and timely preparation of all proposals and related documents, coordinating content and format with Specialists and Technical Analysts.

3. Recommend and coordinate requests for related artwork and content with the Purchasing, Graphics, and Corporate Communications departments.

4. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with corporate areas including Sales, Underwriting, Actuarial, Graphics, Claims, Membership, Provider Affairs, Network Management and HMO Management to ensure accurate, strategic responses.

5. Assist field sales staff in defining proposal strategy.

6. Analyze data from corporate departments to ensure consistency within proposals.

7. Perform special marketing communications projects as required, including resource documents, procedure guides and interdepartmental work sessions.

8. Keep abreast of current trends in employee benefits, managed care and communications through review and research of publications and business journals.

9. Possess and maintain technical writing skills and knowledge of appropriate PC software and layout design and copy fitting, typography, use of color and paper types, etc. to effectively perform all accountabilities assigned to the position.

10. Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity and Compliance Program policies.

11. Maintain complete confidentiality of company related business.

12. Maintain effective communication with management regarding developments within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.

13. Maintain strict attention to detail.

14. Possess strong organizational and planning skills.

15. Ability to meet and work with deadlines.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

-Bachelor Degree in Business or Communication related field.

-1 year of experience in marketing communications or other communications experience

-PC, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software proficiency.
